What is GourMade Cookery?
GourMade Cookery is an exciting new concept in home meal preparation. We bridge the gap between a personal chef service and restaurant take-out. Like a personal chef, we design monthly menus, purchase top-quality ingredients and complete all of the "Mise en place" (prep work) for you. You come to our kitchen and participate in the fun part, applying your own creative touch to our recipes and ingredients. Best of all...we clean up after you. You will leave our kitchen with up to a month's worth of meals to refrigerate and freeze at home, then cook at your convenience.

Do I have to open an account to view menus, calendar and prices?
No, just select Menus from the home page to view our monthly menu and prices. Click on Calendar to view our monthly session calendar.

How do I sign up for a session?
From the website go to Calendar to view monthly session calendar. Click on the date of your choice, then log in and select your menu. You will be prompted for payment information, once completed click Submit. You should receive an order confirmation within 24 hours.

Can I split the family sized entrées into smaller portions?
Yes, all entrées can be packaged in smaller portions. When you place your order, check the Split box, and a small fee will be added to your order for additional packaging supplies.

Can I bring my child to the session with me?
Children over 14 may attend sessions with an adult. Each month, we offer special "kids cook" sessions for parents to bring a child 8 or older with them.

Will sales tax be applied to my meals?
No, the state of California does not require us to collect sales tax.

Are your menu's kid friendly?
At GourMade Cookery, we know it's a challenge to find food that will appeal to both children and adults. Each month, we will feature several tried and true kid-friendly recipes. We think your kids will enjoy trying new tastes; however, you can customize the seasonings in any entrée to your own family's preferences.

Yes, we will work with you to adjust any recipe to help you meet your specific nutritional goals or requirements.

What do I bring or wear to the session?
It's a good idea to bring a large cooler to transport your meals home. We provide all your pans, freezer bags, labels, and gloves and aprons for you to wear while you are in the kitchen. We require long hair to be pulled back or in a ponytail. Comfortable clothes and shoes are recommended. Remember that it's a kitchen, so you may get a little messy.

How long does it take?
The average time to assemble a recipe is 10 minutes. Allow yourself about an hour to make six items and two hours for 12 or more.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
We understand that schedule conflicts arise, and we want to work with you. If you cancel your session at least 4 days in advance, we will be happy to offer you a full refund. Cancellations within 4 days of your reservation, will receive a credit of 50% of your order. We would be happy to apply your cancellation fee towards our GourMade 2 Go program, and have our chef's prepare your entrée selections for you to pick up. There are no refunds for "no-shows".

Can I arrange a private session for a group of friends?
We are happy to schedule a private party for you and 11 of your friends, in fact we will offer the organizer 20% off of their session fee. Please call our office at (925) 846-4773 to arrange your event. Once the event is arranged by us, you can log in to your account, enter in your friends' names and emails and an email invite will be sent to them. You will also be able to see which of your friends have signed up for your private party. Please Note: you may arrange and reserve a party for less than 11 guests; however, we will keep the session open for individual sign-ups.
